Dora Barnes

Dora Barnes was born and raised in Yakima, WA. She started studying piano at the age of five and in middle school she began playing the alto saxophone. She started singing at age 15 studying classical voice. Dora pursued her music education at Central Washington University.

Dora has performed in countless operas and musicals including Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (as Cinderella), Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (as Adele) and Oklahoma! (as Laurey). She has received first place in both “Yakima’s Got Talent” and “The Union Gap Idol” contests.

Dora now resides in Seattle, WA. She is active in many music organizations including the Seattle Art Song Society and Seattle Modern Opera Company. She also plays music in three different bands (The Epics, O.B.G.s and Fragile Lung). Dora started teaching music in 2014 with an emphasis on healthy techniques and fun!
