Michelle Brayson
Michelle Brayson has had a lifelong love for music and officially started taking lessons at the age of seven for voice. She spent the first part of her training focused mainly on musical theater and choir.
Years later she joined School of Rock Portland, where she enrolled in vocal, keyboard and guitar lessons. Through School of Rock she has played with Frank Black of the Pixies, Page Hamilton of Helmet, Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and Kelly LeMieux of Goldfinger.
Michelle has lent her skills to multiple bands spanning a wide range of genres from funk to heavy metal and has played events such as the Nike Olympic Trials, Bumbershoot, Folklife and Fall into Darkness Metal Festival. Michelle has also been seen playing her keytar at casinos all over the PNW with Poker Face: A Tribute to Lady Gaga.
Michelle moved to Seattle, WA to get her A.M. degree in Classical Voice in 2011 and has loved the city so much she hasn’t left. Michelle loves to teach music theory, sight-singing and healthy voice techniques in everything from musical theater to contemporary pop singing. She also has a deep love for pop-synthesizer riffs and blues piano improvisation for her keyboard students. She loves helping both keys and vocal students find their unique sound and reach their musical goals. In addition to teaching, Michelle can be seen playing shows with her bands Charmed, I’m Sure and Deft Lips.

Our group projects vary from season to season. Usually focused on songwriting, collaboration, promotion and all the basic how-to’s needed to put out your own music from home!

Carl Germain
Carl grew up in a musical family and could sing perfectly in tune by age two. At age four he began studying classical piano, and later taught himself guitar and bass which would become his primary instruments.
Soon after Carl started a series of bands playing punk, metal, hardcore and progressive rock. He also began recording himself from a young age, moving from a purple kids’ tape recorder to a 4 track cassette and DAW-based recording in the early 2000s. In 2009 Carl became a student of Robert Fripp’s Guitar Craft courses, which greatly influenced his approach to playing as well as teaching.
Carl Germain has taught guitar and bass to hundreds of students of all ages over the last decade. Carl has recently toured and performed with Robert Fripp and the Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists, Motopony, Pickwick, and Golden Gardens, and more.
Dora Barnes
Dora Barnes was born and raised in Yakima, WA. She started studying piano at the age of five and in middle school she began playing the alto saxophone. She started singing at age 15 studying classical voice. Dora pursued her music education at Central Washington University.
Dora has performed in countless operas and musicals including Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (as Cinderella), Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (as Adele) and Oklahoma! (as Laurey). She has received first place in both “Yakima’s Got Talent” and “The Union Gap Idol” contests.
Dora now resides in Seattle, WA. She is active in many music organizations including the Seattle Art Song Society and Seattle Modern Opera Company. She also plays music in three different bands (The Epics, O.B.G.s and Fragile Lung). Dora started teaching music in 2014 with an emphasis on healthy techniques and fun!
Eric Junge
Eric Junge is a lifelong musician and has been a drum teacher and piano teacher since 2012. He has taught at several schools including School of Rock and Westside Music Academy. Eric has been a gigging musician around Seattle, WA since the late 90s. Eric has recorded and toured with Forest Ray, Paul Gonzenbach, and Diesto among other artists. In his spare time he studies and performs blues and classical piano, and is a freelance graphic designer.
He is currently spending time in the synth lab working on solo material as his alter ego Dream Commander and also plays keys in a yacht rock tribute act, The Sunset Grooves. He is happy to have the opportunity to teach his craft and be able to contribute to the music community in whatever way he can. Pat Fry
Having over 30 years of guitar experience, Pat has been playing in bands in Seattle since the early 90s and studied Music Performance at Shoreline Community College. Throughout his formative years, Pat developed a passion for metal, punk, hardcore, and all things heavy, which is what originally got him to pick up the instrument. Later he developed an interest in other genres like folk, rock, blues, and jazz.
Pat loves teaching and learning all styles. His philosophy is to use music his students are interested in learning as a tool to teach various aspects of technique and theory.
